Black Bean And Chocolate Chilli

A small amount of dark chocolate adds a lovely wintery richness to this hearty and warming dish with a kick.

  1. Chop the onion and garlic finely

    Chop the celery finely and grate the carrot

    Melt the coconut oil in a large pan over a medium heat

    Add the onion and garlic to soften for a few minutes

    Chop the jalapeno and add this and the spices to the onion and garlic until fragrant

    Add the celery and carrot and stir for a few minutes

    Add the beans, tomatoes and water, bring to the boil, then simmer for 20 minutes

    Add the chocolate and cook for another couple of minutes until melted

    Serve with brown rice, lime wedges and a sprinkle of chopped coriander
