When healthy food becomes unaffordable, food insecurity becomes a public health issue.

That’s why we were proud to attend and cater for the launch of the City and Hackney Director of Public Health Report 2025–26.

The report highlights the growing impact of rising food costs on residents across Hackney and the City of London, particularly low-income households, children and global majority communities. We’re delighted to see community organisations recognised as a vital part of creating a healthier and more equitable food system.

We’re especially proud that the voices of our community cookery participants and chefs feature in the report, demonstrating how practical cooking skills, shared meals and community-led food initiatives can help improve health, build confidence and reduce food insecurity.

Alongside the conversations, we shared a vibrant plant-based menu prepared by our talented chefs, sparking discussion and connection around the power of good food.

A special thanks to Dr Sandra Husbands and The Hackney Council Public Health team for recognising our work and for bringing together so many organisations committed to positive change.

We look forward to continuing to support our communities and growing as part of this inspiring ecosystem of organisations working towards a healthier, more equitable borough.
