Banana, Date and Chocolate Cake
Yummy, soft and gooey, flecked with specks of dark chocolate. This cake is a real crowd pleaser, and it's also cheerfully cheap. The sweetness comes naturally from the dates and mashed bananas. Make sure they are black, as this means they are at their sweetest, rather than past their best.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 180C/Gas Mark 5.
-
Line a 10-inch cake tin with greaseproof paper.
-
Sift the flour and cocoa into a mixing bowl.
-
Add all the rest of the ingredients except for the almond milk and mix well.
-
Check the consistency, it should be a dough, thick like yoghurt. If you need to add a little almond milk to loosen, then do so and mix thoroughly.
-
Put the dough into the cake tin and smooth it out evenly.
-
Cook for 25 minutes until an inserted knife comes out clean.
-
Remove from the oven, take out of the cake tin and leave to cool on a wire rack.
