THE PLANT-BASED COMMUNITY COOKERY SCHOOL
Passionate about local, healthy, sustainable food? Then why not work for Made In Hackney.
We have a vacancy for a resourceful, talented, super organised Head Chef who loves a challenge as much as the enjoy serving the community?
The job involves working with donated surplus produce and with both professional chefs and volunteers.
The successful candidate is someone who loves creating a good vibe in the kitchen and pouring a whole lot of love into culturally varied plant-based meals to nourish our community.
The meals we make as a family in this kitchen really change lives. Sareta Puri our outgoing Head Chef says. "Its been an honour to serve the community in this way and know the food we're producing makes such a difference to people's lives."
This is an exciting and rewarding role leading the kitchen team to prepare 550-600 meals twice a week (180-200 portions each) to community members in Hackney (120+ people.)
The experience of working for Made in Hackney is varied, unique and rewarding. There is plenty of room for the successful candidate to be creative and bring new ideas for developing the service.
We receive a high demand of applications to become a cookery teacher and are currently only seeking people with a unique specialisation. We also especially encourage individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds to apply.
We would like to hear from you if you have expert knowledge of Korean or Thai Cuisine or could lead a 'Making to Sell' course, covering the steps required to set up a food business.
