About Karla Zazueta

Karla is a Mexican cookery teacher, author, Mexican food writer, and caterer originally from Baja California in northern Mexico. Living in London since 2003, she teaches authentic Mexican cooking in a fun and engaging way, drawing on her previous experience as a secondary school teacher. Her teaching studio is based in East Finchley / Hampstead Garden Suburb, where she can accommodate up to 6 people at a time.

In addition to her cookery classes, Karla hosts Mexican supper clubs for up to 8 people at her house, which is decorated in a vibrant Mexican style. She also provides Mexican food catering for private and corporate events.

Karla's following has grown over the years, and she recently published her first Mexican cookbook in April 2024. With a lifelong love for cooking, especially her authentic family Mexican recipes, Karla aims to share the flavors and memories of Mexico through her food.

Her dishes are infused with a special "touch" known as sazón, adding an extra element of love and authenticity that sets her cooking apart. Join Karla on her Mexican Food Memories adventure and start cooking more Mexican with her heartfelt recipes.

Refunds/transfers: Please understand our charity needs time to resell your tickets as we rely heavily on the income generated by our fundraising classes. We require a minimum of 14 days' notice for any cancellations or transfers once you have booked onto a class. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend or family member in case of last minute illness (just email classes@madeinhackney.org to let us know).
