In this class Lauren will set you up for the days ahead. You'll learn how to:
- Start your own ferments and sprouts
- Make cultured Chickpea Pancakes (ready to eat next day) with Hemp Granola
- Make delicious mood boosting treats including CBD Caramel Slice and a Hemp Milk and Chilled Chia pudding
- Recipe handout included containing bonus recipes and mind food tips
Lauren Lovatt is a Plant Based Chef and Entrepreneur. She is the founder of the Plant Academy in London and the woman behind Feed Your Mind Candy, a project dedicated to delicious food specifically designed to feed your mind.
Lauren has openly shared her journey with Mental health over the years which led her to discover this passion to inspire others through food. With everything she does inspired and driven by a burning desire to share that food, not only the ingredients you eat but the act of cooking and coming together around a table can change everything in terms of our mental health. Turning our preconceptions of mental health upside down and sharing the true flavour of Mind Food.
INGREDIENTS LIST
- One white cabbage (ideally organic)
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper corns
- 1 tablespoon chili flakes (to taste)
- 1/4 cup seed/grains to sprout (buckwheat/chickpea/lentil/mung bean/broccoli/readdish/alfalfa etc)
- Two cups chickpea flour (gram flour, found in Turkish shops and on Asian aisles) OR use buckwheat flour
- 1/3 cup hemp oil/olive oil
- 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 tablespoons tamari (or otherwise soya sauce)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon date syrup/maple syrup
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup carob/cacao powder (a mix of both is ideal)
- 1/3 cup any nut butter
- 1/4 cup and 1 tablespoon dried fruit (goji berries/ raisins / apricots chopped into pieces are really nice)
- 1/2 cup seeds (hemp and chia are good)
- 1/4 cup nuts of your choice (walnuts for extra omegas)
- 2 -3 tablespoons molasses (or any liquid sweetener)
- Liquid sweetener to taste eg maple or date syrup
- 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
- 2 cups hemp seeds (or substitute with any seeds or nuts SOAKED OVERNIGHT then drained and put into the fridge next morning). Note: hemp seeds do not need to be soaked
- 4 tablespoons chia seeds (or substitute with oats)
- a pinch of vanilla extract
- Water (filtered if possible)
- Sea salt and also smoked salt (if you can get it)
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:
- one dropper of CBD
- 1 tablespoon rose essence (or rose water)
- One inch fresh turmeric, cut into juliennes
EQUIPMENT LIST
- Large mixing bowl
- Clean 1l jar
- Whisk and a bowl
- Blender (any kind will work)
- 2 x 500 ml jar
- Baking tray
- Medium Tupperware for the 'mind candy'
Fee: Suggested donation £20 but any donation amounts accepted. This money will be used to help fund our FREE COVID19 emergency meal service and keep our charity going at this difficult time.
