The Event

Join wild food enthusiast, Ken Greenway, for a foraging experience at the amazing award-winning Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. Ken will share his love and deep knowledge of foraging and will introduce you to the common place, everyday plants you can eat on site. He will share his knowledge of seasonal wild foods as well as where and when to pick them.

Looking after the nature reserve and heritage site is a way of life for Ken. Participants will join a guided walk sharing knowledge and the spirit of exploration of this unique sanctuary for history, nature and wild food. The walk is limited to 15 participants so an intimate experience in the outdoors will make it easy to ask questions and meet others in the group.

One can often find Ken litter picking, delivering Forest School, or running foraging tours and bat walks in the Park.

The event will include:

  • A guided walk to safely identify wild foods and enjoy samples of the plants along the way
  • Tips on where and how to forage
  • Samples to take home to turn into your own wild creations
  • Information on the health benefits of wild foods
  • Opportunity to ask Ken questions
  • Digital foraging booklet
  • Numbers limited to 15
  • Dogs on leads are welcome

This walk is one of our exciting new blended community and fundraising events which both help us raise funds for our charity and offer wonderful opportunities to our community participants that might not otherwise be accessible to them.

“THCP is nothing short of stunning and Kenneth, my Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park guide, is unbelievably knowledgeable about edible plants.” Wild Food Walk participant
