The Event

Are you ready to spice up your kitchen skills and add some Indian flavours to your cooking? Join our Vegan Indian Cooking class! You'll learn the secrets of vegan Indian cuisine, experience how to use various spices and techniques for making flavourful Indian dishes with plant-based ingredients, and will be able to take your culinary skills to the next level.

Our experienced chef Amandeep will guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks to ensure your dishes are authentic and bursting with flavour.

Whether you're a seasoned vegan cook or new to the plant-based lifestyle, our Vegan Indian Cooking class is the perfect way to discover new flavours and cooking techniques.

You’ll learn:

  • Learn the skills and techniques to start your own Indian cuisine journey, and the first step is to learn everything about frequently used Indian spices and mixes
  • Explore techniques for making delicious chapatis (Indian flatbreads)
  • Learn the art of preparing aromatic and flavourful Tarka dhal, a popular lentil dish cooked with a tempering of spices
  • Master the technique of making Jeera rice, a fragrant basmati rice dish infused with the flavours of cumin seeds.
  • Make a tempting plant-based raita to complement your meal
  • Learn how to make the pani puri filling (and the skills to make any curry)
  • Amandeep will share family stories on the history of the dishes and tradition and you will have the opportunity to ask questions
  • Top off the experience with the stunning views across leafy Clapton Common as you cook and learn
  • Easy-to-follow recipe sheets provided to take home to impress your family and friends
  • Relax with a sit down lunch and round off your sumptuous meal with homemade refined sugar-free sweet treats

This class will be a mixture of practical cooking, demos and time to ask questions. We are now returning to 'family style' cooking with everyone cooking and sharing workstations. This creates more of a communal and interactive experience, working together as a team. All ingredients and equipment needed for the class are provided.
