Henry and Ian, the ingenious duo behind BOSH! team up with Made in Hackney, vegan community cookery school for an irresistible class, because the bottom line is these guys don’t do dull dinners.

With a shared mission: to show everyone how easy it can be to eat more plants, get ready for an action packed online session including inspiring techniques, with surprisingly simple ways to elevate your dishes to wow your taste buds and your friends.

This live online class will show you:

  • How to make the perfect go-to creamy vegan Caesar salad starter with crunchy croutons from scratch
  • Top your Caesar salad with 'chicken' made from mushrooms that don't disappoint!
  • Watch and learn techniques to take your pasta sauce to the next level 
  • Knock out an elevated bowl of gnocchi that is simply delicious and fit for a restaurant
  • Opportunity to ask the BOSH! boys questions via the chat function
  • Easy-to-follow recipe sheets provided to recreate the dishes again and again at home

About the chefs:

Have your ingredients ready, weighed out and chopped where necessary before the class starts to help you keep pace with the session and feel more relaxed. We also recommend printing out your handout or having it available to view on a separate device if possible.


For the gnocchi (serves 3-4)

  • 500g gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon vegan butter
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoon nutritional yeast (nooch)
  • 5g fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the puttanesca

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoon capers
  • 75g good pitted black olives
  • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes (more if you like it spicy)
  • 1 tin good quality chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sugar
  • 10g basil leaves
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

For the vegan chick'n Caesar salad (serves 3-4)

  • 9 king oyster mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon chicken seasoning
  • 200g un-sliced seeded brown bread (inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried italian herbs
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • Sea salt and pepper
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 60g vegan mayo
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • Sealt and pepper to taste
  • Zest & juice of ½ lemon
  • 300g Romaine lettuce
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast to top (optional)

Made In Hackney uses cereals containing gluten namely: wheat (spelt and khorasan wheat), rye, barley, oats; peanuts; all other nuts; sesame; all other seeds; soybeans; celery and celeriac; mustard; sulphur dioxide/sulphites; lupin; tomatoes and other allergens in it's classes. Our food is freshly prepared in our busy cookery school kitchen that handles allergens, so we cannot guarantee that our food and drinks are allergen-free. Even in classes where these ingredients are not being used, they will be on site in our store rooms and our equipment will have previously come into contact with them. Participants attend at their own risk.
