Stove Top Granola

The children we taught this recipe to couldn't get enough of it!

Ingredients

  • 200 grammes porridge oats
  • 150 grammes nuts (brazil nuts, hazelnuts, flaked almonds)
  • 100 grammes raisins/ dried fruit
  • 100 grammes seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, sesame)
  • 50 grammes dried coconut
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup/fruit syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  1. Heat the coconut oil until melted
  2. Add the porridge oats and cinnamon and stir for ten minutes
  3. Transfer the oats to a bowl
  4. Crush the nuts in a mortar and pestle
  5. Heat the nuts in the pan until brown and put them in the bowl with the oats
  6. Add the maple or fruit syrup to the pan and stir on a low heat until runny
  7. Add all of the ingredients including the oats and nuts to the pan and stir on a low heat until they are mixed and starting to brown
  8. Transfer to a baking sheet and leave to cool
  9. Store in an airtight container
