The Plant-Based Community Cookery School
This tea was included by Chef Steve Wilson's January Health Kick class. It's a warming tea packed with vitamin C and is perfect as a pick me up when you're feeling a bit under the weather or have a cold or sore throat coming on.
Makes 4 cups
1 thumb fresh ginger
1 cinammon stick
5g fresh turmeric
Pinch cayenne pepper
Pinch ground black pepper
1 lemon
1: Chop the ginger and turmeric, place in a pot with 1 litre of water. Bring to the boil.
2: Add the cinnamon, white pepper and cayenne. Boil for 10 minutes.
3: Remove from the heat and add the juice of the lemon.
4: Strain and drink. Sweeten if desired with a natural sweetner such as maple syrup.
