The Plant-Based Community Cookery School
Elderberries are super nutritious and renowned for their immune boosting properties. Mixed with a variety of warming spices this tea is delicious and the perfect drink to accompany any festive occasion. This recipe was supplied by Chef Lucia for our festive baking community cookery class. Lucia loves creating delicious recipes with the aim of sharing kindness and inspiring people to make mindful choices for the collective welfare.
1 lt filtered water
4 teaspoon dried elderberries
1 large orange
1 apple
2 cinnamon stick
3 whole star anise
4 whole cardamom pods
5 whole cloves
1/2 vanilla pod
20 gr maple syrup
1. Quarter the orange and squeeze.
2. Crush the cardamom pods lightly.
3. Cut the vanilla pod in half, length wise.
4. Core the apple and cut in chunky pieces.
5. Add all ingredients to a medium pot, bring to boil then lower the heat, cover with lid a let it
simmer for 5 minutes.
6. Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 more minutes.
7. Strain and enjoy hot.
