Combine seasonal British pears with this Christmas spice mix for a delicious and healthy festive pud!
2 pears
2 oranges
1 stick of cinnamon
1 tablespoon fruit syrup
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cloves
100 ml water
1. Zest the oranges then squeeze the juice.
2. Put the zest and juice into a pan with all the ingredients apart from the pears and bring to the boil.
3. Peel the pears leaving on the stalk.
4. Cut the base of the pears so that they stand up on their own.
5. Place the pears sideways in the syrup and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
6. Serve the pears covered with the syrup and a dusting of cinnamon.
